Over the past year, the incredible Jimena Caballero and I have been developing the first act of a bilingual musical adaptation of Esperanza Rising by Pam Muñoz Ryan. To share and celebrate what we've been working on, we'll be streaming a virtual workshare of song selections performed by CMU actors followed by a live talkback on May 16, 2021 at 2:00PM EST. The event will also feature costume renderings and a glimpse into the design process of Laura Riviere, who has been helping us visualize the world of ER for her capstone. The amazing students in the cast are Lauren Medina, Victoria Bartolotta, Bryanna Felipe, Marco Porras, Mariana Garzon, and Julio Gutierrez.
