With Mid-terms around the corner, we all hope you're taking the proper care of yourself and keeping your stress to a minimum! One of the many ways you can do that is by coming to hang out with us this Wednesday at our empanada making GBM or stopping by for our sale this Friday. <3 Know that you can always reach out to any of us if you need any additional help finding resources for managing stress or just studying for exams.

Haciendo Enlaces: Gracias y Phonetics Research Request

The students in Phonetics & Phonology II are doing a study that compares some aspects of English and Spanish phonetics. If you are between the ages of 18 and 75, and you are a native speaker of English who is either a heritage speaker of Spanish, or you are currently learning Spanish, then you can participate! The study will take no more than an hour, and you will be paid $10 for your participation. Participation is completely voluntary, and you may take part in this study any time between now and Friday, March 1st.

Fluency in Spanish is not required, we recommend at least intermediate level proficiency in order to listen, communicate, and share.  Please pre-register here so that we can order the appropriate amount of food for attendees.  We look forward to seeing you there!


Event: Kavi Ade (Speaker)

Date: Rangos

Location: February 21st at 7:00pm

About: Ade's poetry centers on their experience as a Black Trans Queer person. Their work centers on topics of race, gender, sexuality, and social justice. They have performed and spoken at several events all over the United States, including True Colors, the largest LGBTQ+ youth conference in the United States. At CMU, Ade's performance will bring to light topics of intersectionality between race, orientation, and gender. If you would like to learn more about Ade's work as a speaker and performer, this is a link to their website.

Haciendo Enlaces (Making Connections), Mon 2/18 @ 6pm
