"Zimmerman's text is fast-paced, and riddled with the wounds of humanity."
- Pop Dust

At City of Asylum, we believe theater is a powerful and necessary literary art. This reading will be followed by a post-show discussion with the playwright and creative team. Audiences are encouraged to engage with the work, and experience theater's power to spark meaningful dialogue about complex issues.

Simona's father is a mystery. As a child, curious about his life in Latin America before moving to the US, she became obsessed with discovering his secrets, dedicating her life to studying the science of trauma, while her own thoughts and dreams are haunted by a shadowy figure–is her father's past attempting to run her down? A moving and poetic look at family, legacy, and persecution, Simona's Search asks, "Can pain be passed from generation to generation?"

This reading will take place downstairs in our intimate Word Cellar.
