A former ICORN exiled writer, Cuban poet Carlos A. Aguilera was banned from home after joining the 2003 protests against the imprisonment of 75 authors and intellectuals. This Sunday, Carlos joins University of Pittsburgh faculty Daniel Balderston and Ricardo Vazquez Diaz to discuss the cultural and political divide in Cuba, his activism, and the pursuit of his literary career and civic work while abroad.

Carlos also reads from recently published collections of poetry and short stories. The reading and conversation is pre-recorded in Spanish with English subtitles, followed by Carlos tuning in live from his home in Prague to participate in an English q&a with the audience. Moderated and interpreted by City of Asylum's Executive Director Andrés Franco
