Tuesday, October 5, 2021,
Time: 2:00 – 3:00 PM EST
Technology is universal and therefore needs to reflect the diverse users, creators and innovators that shape the technology of tomorrow. In 2015, only 4.7% of Tech professionals were Hispanic. (latinotech.org). Minority-owned companies contribute greatly to the US economy (4.7 million jobs) and capital market ($700b annual revenue). But many Black and Latino businesses do not reach their full potential due to coaching, connections, curriculum and capital barriers. Latino US adults over 25 with a bachelor's degree or higher comprised only 21% compared to 45% non-minority. The total US venture dollars raised for Black and Latino founders in 2020⁴ was only 2.4%. (EY).
During this panel discussion, successful Pittsburgh Hispanic/Latina/e/o/x TECH entrepreneurs will share their experience, drive, spirit, barriers and challenges to increase more Latinx/Hispanics in TECH business in the U.S. Main takeaways will be strategies to face barriers in business and tips to be successful.
