Andrés Franco returns to the podium—for one night, of course

In case you did not know, our Executive Director Andrés Franco came to City of Asylum from the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (PSO), where he served as Resident Conductor.

Andrés will be returning to the podium on Tuesday, October 5th at 7:30 PM to conduct the PSO as part of RADical Days 2021. The concert features music by Florence Price—the first Black woman to have a symphony premiered by a major U.S. orchestra—as well as music inspired by Spanish culture.

Program includes:
Manuel Penella (arr. Brito):  Pasodoble from El Gato Montés
Florence Price: Selections from Symphony No. 1 in E Minor
Georges Bizet:  Selections from Carmen Suites No. 1 and 2
Jerónimo Giménez: Intermedio No. 4 from La Boda de Luis Alonso

RADical Days is an annual thank you to the public with free admission, tours, performances, and family activities offered by the organizations and attractions that are funded by RAD.

Though this is a free performance with general admission, advance reservations are recommended. Reserve your tickets at the Heinz Hall Box office (412) 392-4900 or online.
