Dear Latin Americanists,
I would be grateful if you would share the attached flyer with students and interested faculty regarding this year's History Forum lecture at Duquesne on October 27 at 7:00 pm. Our speaker is Dr. Matthew Restall, Edwin Sparks Professor of History and Anthropology and Director of Latin American Studies at Penn State University. The topic of Dr. Restall's lecture is the Spanish conquest of Mexico in 1521.
The event is free and open to the public, and convenient parking is available. A Mexican-themed food and drink reception will follow the presentation and Q&A. We will live-stream the presentation on Youtube for those unable to attend in person and accept questions for the presenter via e-mail during the Q&A. The link for the live stream will be accessible via the Forum's website at https://www.duq.edu/academics/schools/liberal-arts/academics/departments-and-centers/history/events/history-forum
Since 1968, the Department of History has hosted the History Forum, attracting national and international scholars to address topics of current as well as historical and academic interest. The History Forum welcomes the general public to attend the public lectures and interact with the speakers and the Duquesne University community. |
