Freedom House’s annual report, Freedom in the World, assesses the condition of political rights and civil liberties around the world. Its next report, to be published on March 3rd, will examine the long-term democratic decline in political rights and civil liberties across the globe.

This event will launch the Latin America findings of Freedom House’s latest report, highlighting positive and negative changes, and why different countries are diverging. Freedom House and FIU experts will examine trends in political freedoms in Latin America in the global context, discussing the causes and potential consequences of the shifts being seen, and what needs to be done to protect positive shifts and prevent further decline elsewhere.
