Miguel Rocha Vivas is a professor at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá. He is the author of Palabras mayores: Tradiciones mítico-literarias y escritores indígenas en Colombia (2010), which won him the National Prize for a Research Essay in that country, and he has published other books and articles on contemporary indigenous literatures in South America. He has lectured in Europe, Canada, the U.S. and South America. He also co-edited the impressive seven-volume anthology of contemporary indigenous literatures, Biblioteca de literaturas amerindias de Colombia (2010). A reception will follow at 1309 Cathedral.
