According to the National Latina Business Women Association, Latinas are the fast-growing group of entrepreneurs in the US, with their businesses generating $65 billion dollars in revenue annually. However, Latinas face unique challenges when starting a business including access to capital, languages barriers, regulations, licensing and limited resources and networks.
Join the Pitt Libraries and the Small Business Development Center for a panel discussion featuring Latina entrepreneurs in the Pittsburgh area. Come hear their stories of resilience and learn about their achievements and challenges in starting their business.
This program is virtual, bilingual. Registration is required to receive the Zoom link.

· Maria Heller (Venezuela) Owner of the Valex Group.
- Maria Heller. Owner of Valex Group. She is from Venezuela. Valex Group is a master distributor of natural rubber, latex and other raw materials for the rubber industry, not only in the U.S. but to all Latin America, Canada, and global markets. She just completed a 6-year term as a President of the Latin American Rubber Association.
· Maria Manoutou (Puerto Rico) Owner of Pittsburgh Latino Magazine.
- Maria Manautou Matos is the owner of Pittsburgh Latino Magazine. She is originally from Puerto Rico. Maria completed undergrad studies at CMU and obtained her master's degree at Duquesne University. She is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Publications and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
· Jazmin Hernandez (Mexico). Owner of Panaderia Jazmin, a bakery.
- Jazmin Hernandez. Owner of Panaderia Jazmin. She is from Mexico. Her background is in bakery in Mexico and what she offers in her business is authentic, hand-made, bakery and recently she inaugurated her coffee, bakery place in Mt Lebanon.
