The CAS Hospitality Initiative presents Capoeira history, music, and movement with Akinlana Lowman Tuesday, Oct. 1, 12:30 - 1:50 Center for Student Diversity & Inclusion, Cohon University Center Lower Level Please join Dr. Alexa Woloshyn's World Music class to learn about capoeira history, music, and movement with Akinlana Lowman of Capoeira Association of Pittsburgh. Lowman has been practicing capoeira since the age of eight, when he studied under Mestro Nego Gato and instructor Justin Liang. He has since studied and taught capoeira across the United States. Upon his return to Pittsburgh in 2017, he co-founded the Capoeira Association of Pittsburgh, which offers music, dance, and art workshops for children, youth, and adults.  Sponsored by the School of Music
