Hiring For Tutors/TAs/Mentors

The Leonard Gelfand Center for Service Learning and Outreach is seeking students interested in working as Tutors, TAs, and Mentors to support our work in the K-12 Community! We are currently hiring for the following off campus positions:

High School Spanish (2 Locations) Conversational M-F 10:15am - 1:10pm, Academic T-F 8 - 2:45pm
High School French M-F 8:45am - 2:00pm
High School Arabic for ESL students T-F 8am-2:45pm
High School Math (2 Locations) M-F 8:45am - 2:00pm
High School Chemistry T-F 1:40pm - 2:40pm
High School Anatomy and Biology M-F 7:30am - 9:00am, 11:50am - 1:15pm
High School English/Writing T-F Flexible between 8am - 2pm
High School Robotics Mentoring Thursday 3:45 - 4:45pm (future Tuesday and Thursday) Middle School Science Fair Mentoring MTThF 11-11:50am
Elementary/Middle After School Homework Help (2 Locations) 4pm - 6pm

Transportation via public bus or provided via uber. Minimum of 2 hours a week, maximum of 10 hours a week. Work study Eligible but not required. Placements based on mutual availability. Act 153 required upon hire. Starting at $11/hr. Complete the application today!

Casa San Jose After School Program

We currently have a need for tutors for our after-school program. The hours for this program are from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. From Tuesday to Friday, volunteers will need to assist the coordinator in picking up the kids from our local elementary school, driving them to our site, and interacting with the kids. Helping them with homework assignments. After homework is done we ask that they participate and help coordinate activities. We usually have sports or arts and crafts for the remainder of the time. Volunteers will be assisting with drop off at their designated time and stop.

Puentes:
This Program runs on Sat, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm & serves kids ages 7 to 11 year olds. Volunteers will need to be ready to engage in activities and interact with them, help coordinate activities, and assist with transportation monitoring when needed.

Cross Culture/ Jovenes con proposito
This Program also runs on Sat from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm & serves kids ages 12 to 18 years old. Volunteers will need to be ready to engage in activities and interact with them, help coordinate activities, and assist with transportation monitoring when needed.
