TOMORROW--CLAS@Pitt event: Film CHURROS--02/11/2020 6pm

Block Chronicles, the University of Pittsburgh Center for Urban Education and the Center for Latin American Studies (CLAS) at the University of Pittsburgh are co-sponsoring a film screening of Churros. Angel Sanchez (actor) and Bruce Smolanoff (Director) will be in attendance and will participate in a discussion immediately following the screening.

CHURROS is a dramatic short film about Jo-Jo, a 15-year-old Mexican-American boy who lives with his street vendor single mother and little sister in Brooklyn.

He breakdances with a crew and dreams of being "the illest" b-boy in the world, but a local gang member attempts to lure him away.

One night, Jo-Jo is forced to make one of the most important decisions of his life. Fiction, 40m, Mexico-USA, 2019
