The Center for Ethnic Studies Research (CESR) and our esteemed co-sponsors are pleased to invite you to attend the annual LatinxConnect Conference (April 3-5, 2025). All are welcome to attend and participate in this free hybrid conference—please register here (for planning purposes).
Our theme for 2025 is ¡Com(o)unidad! (Com)unidade, (Comm)unity: State of the People. The conference will unite students, educators, community leaders, and political advocates to engage in meaningful dialogue on Latinidad envisioning actionable ways to empower and uplift diverse Latine communities at local, national, and global levels in ways that emphasize our collective strength and unity.
This year's conference offers an engaging lineup of events and a diverse range of thought-provoking sessions to provide attendees with multiple opportunities to explore, learn and connect with each other. Additionally, Pitt students who attend LatinxConnect can earn Outside of the Classroom Credit (OCC) for Global Distinctions, University of Pittsburgh, and Frederick Honors College!
Featured Events:
Fliers for all events in the LatinxConnect Conference are listed below, as well as the 42nd Latin American Caribbean Festival by the Center for Latin American Studies!
The Latinx Connect conference pushes beyond traditional celebrations of Latinidad, focusing on empowerment and social justice for Latine communities. The event highlights the urgent need to address the inequities faced by Latine individuals -- particular those at the intersections of Afro, Indigenous, Queer, Trans* identities within the U.S. and globally.
Register at pi.tt/lxc2025
It is free and open to the public!
