Invitation
Presentation on the Jim Ferlo Sustainability Center Habana, Cuba
Remarks from the Ambassador and others
You are invited to a presentation of the Pittsburgh-Matanzas Sister Cities Partnership project, The Jim Ferlo Sustainability Center. The presentation will include detailed information on the effort to establish a sustainability Center in Habana, Cuba. This effort is in cooperation with The University of Havana, the Office of the Habana Historian, and builds off of a memorandum of understanding with Penn State University. The presentation will include current and future local efforts that support this work.
The goal of the project is to engage in a constructive and collaborative manner on efforts to protect and support UNESCO World Heritage Sites that suffer from severe weather events and complicated by the US Embargo. Further activities would include student exchanges, applied research, cultural exchanges, and other efforts to engage positively on these issues.
